The seat is separate from the knob so any attempt to back fill the tank repositions the seat to block the flow into the tank. Inside the valve body was a ball bearing and spring. This tank was purchased at an auction. That was the check valve.

I can t figure out this valve on a 30lb freon tank. To take the valve apart i had to grind through the lip around the edge with a dremel tool. Now i could fill the tank. With the capability to operate under high working pressures as well as a wide operating temperature.

I must be missing something or this valve is screwed up. How do you get 30 of r 22 freon out of a new green tank that has a valve that will turn but not open on a new dupont tank. I spent some time seeing if it could be overcome with backyard engineering but the juice wasn t worth the squeezing. I pulled them out and reassembled the valve.
